Bishop William L. Higi Leadership Award
The Bishop William L. Higi Leadership Awards, traditionally awarded each winter at the Guerin Catholic Gala, will now be presented at the Providence Fund Kick-Off Dinner beginning this fall – September 18, 2025.
Nominations now being accepted through Friday, June 27, 2025
The Bishop William L. Higi Leadership Award is presented annually to individuals who promote and live out the mission of Guerin Catholic High School. The late Bishop Higi was the founding Bishop of Guerin Catholic High School. In the face of opposition and constant setbacks, Bishop Higi put his faith ahead of his fears and was the catalyst in opening a new Catholic High School in Indiana for the first time in over 60 years. As of today, more than 20 years after Guerin Catholic opened her doors, the school has been recognized consistently as one of the top Catholic high schools in the nation. The Bishop William L. Higi Leadership Award is presented annually to one person, couple or organization from each of the following categories:
Community
Open to any person or organization that supports the values and mission of Guerin Catholic High School, including former faculty or staff members of Guerin Catholic
Faculty/Staff
Open to current faculty or staff members of Guerin Catholic
Alumni
Open to all Guerin Catholic Alumni
Nominations should focus on activities and service that build community and will honor award recipients for their commitment to the students and the overall mission and community of Guerin Catholic.
At a minimum, each nomination should include a paragraph (500 words max) that states the category of nomination and establishes the candidate’s (individual/couple/organization) qualifications with clear and concise detail. Nominator’s contact information must be included. Anonymous nominations will not be accepted.
Award recipients will be announced in August and presented at the September 18th Providence Fund Kick-Off Dinner.
Guerin Catholic alumni, faculty, staff, and friends are encouraged to submit nominations online or complete a nomination form and mail it to:

• (1) member of the Mission Leadership team (MLT)
• (1) past winner
