Dear Guerin Catholic Community, My name is Deacon Rick Wagner and I am proud to serve as the President of Guerin Catholic High School, assuming the role in July of this year. If I look familiar, you may remember me as the former Principal of the school, serving in that capacity from 2007-2013. I am happy to be back! My goal was to encourage all of us to be active evangelists for the faith. After all, the baptized are called to “Go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15) We might shy away from that responsibility by using excuses such as “I’m not holy enough” or “I don’t know enough scripture or theology.” However, we can honor the call to evangelize by simply sharing our stories, sharing with others how we have experienced Jesus Christ in our lives. We all have such stories—dramatic life-changing moments, special people in our lives that have revealed the face of Christ, or simple encounters when we felt God’s loving presence. Whether you are an alum, a current or past parent, or simply a friend of the school, I hope Guerin Catholic has had a hand in providing such moments for you.
