8 Classof2019 Guerin Catholic’s Class of 2019 graduated on June 2 with 179 members becoming the newest alumni class. The class earned over $25.5 million in college scholarship awards and had an 89% participation rate in the IB program. The class had three National Merit Finalists, one National Merit Semi-Finalist and six National Merit Commended Scholars. The Class of 2019 has 76% of its graduates attending in-state universities or colleges. Thirty-six percent of the class are attending private colleges or universities, and 64% are attending public colleges or universities. Nineteen percent are attending Catholic colleges or universities. Guerin Catholic will no longer use the valedictorian/ salutatorian model and, starting with the Class of 2021, will implement a Latin Honor System that celebrates student performance based on an academic standard. The Class of 2020 will be the final class at Guerin Catholic High School to honor a valedictorian and salutatorian.
