Guerin Catholic invites prospective eighth grade students to visit in the fall of their eighth grade year.
The Golden Eagle Day will give your 8th grade student the opportunity to spend a day attending classes with a current GCHS student. In addition to attending classes, your student will meet other students and teachers, eat lunch in our cafeteria and experience high school life at Guerin Catholic first-hand.
After students check in for their shadow day, parents are invited to stay for a building tour and Q&A with Admissions Staff.
After January 2018, if your student would like to experience a day as a Guerin Catholic Golden Eagle shadowing one of our student ambassador hosts, please contact Jill Folstrom in our Admissions Dept. at Jfolstrom@guerincatholic.org. We will work with you to determine a mutually agreed upon day.
Golden Eagle Shadow Day Details
An email will be sent to registered families approximately 1 week prior to their student’s confirmed shadow day.
On the day of the visit, please arrive at 7:30 am at our Admissions welcome table, directly to the right when you enter the school at the Main Entrance.
There is visitor parking in the main parking lot when entering the school from the south entrance. We recommend parents accompany your student into the building where you can check-in your student as well as meet with Admissions Representatives and have a tour of Guerin Catholic, if time permits for you.
A $6 Meal Deal lunch is “on us” for this day! This can include two of Guerin Catholic’s famous cookies!
What to Bring:
Your student is welcome to bring homework or a book to read in case her Ambassador host has a test or quiz in a class. Please bring a sweatshirt or sweater as some of the classrooms are cooler.
End of Day Pick-up:
Your student will be ready for pick up at approximately 3:30 pm. You can pick up your student via the carpool line, park in the visitor’s section of the parking lot and have your student come out or you are welcome to come in to the school to meet your student and an Admissions Representative – whatever is most convenient for the both of you.
Attire for Monday – Thursday Shadow Days:
Boys: Khakis or nice pants, no jeans permitted; polo, collared shirt or sweater
Girls: Khaki’s, nice pants, or dress / skirt, not shorter than 2” above the knee, are allowed, no jeans permitted; polo, nice shirt or sweater. No “hoodies” or leggings as pants are permitted.
