Curriculum
The academic program is organized on a trimester schedule, with three twelve-week terms in each year. Each trimester is made up of five seventy-minute class periods, and each class is equal to a traditional semester or halfyear credit.

A comprehensive curriculum of 115+ courses emphasizes preparation for college. There are extensive offerings in English/Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, Sciences and Theology. About half of the student body participates in the honors program at Guerin Catholic. The philosophy is that students who are willing to put forth the effort required in an honors or IB course should be allowed to take the class. In the end, students will benefit from a more rigourous curriculum even if they earn a B or C. The most important goal for Guerin Catholic students is proper preparation for college studies.

In addition, students have an opportunity to take directed electives in Business Technology, World Languages, Performing and Fine Arts, Physical Education and Multi-Disciplinary Courses. For complete course descriptions, click here download the GCHS Curriculum Guide.
