High School Placement Test (HSPT) 2024 Summer Preparation Class (for rising 8th graders)
This one-week HSPT Summer Prep Course, taught by experienced Guerin Catholic faculty, includes study tips and techniques to help students develop good test taking habits. Students will take a practice HSPT on Monday and a proctored HSPT on Friday of the course. The proctored test will fulfill the HSPT requirement for application to Guerin Catholic and other schools using the HSPT.
Students will also benefit from spending time on our campus and from meeting staff and current students who will share thoughts on what it takes to be a successful high school student.
2024 Summer Prep Course Dates
June 3-7
Morning session: 9am-12pm FULL
Afternoon session: 1-4pm FULL
July 15-19
Morning session: 9am-12pm FULL
Afternoon session: 1-4pm
Please note that on Friday during each session, when we administer the proctored test, arrival times will be different and communicated to families prior to that day.
Extended time on Friday’s proctored test will be offered for students who have a learning plan and receive extended time on tests at their current school. Testing for ALL students receiving extended time will be during the Friday Morning Session each week, regardless of which session they attend during the week. No extended time testing will be offered in the afternoon.
Students who take the HSPT during the summer prep course are not required to take the test again in the fall. The score from the Friday test of their summer prep course will be entered into the student’s Admissions Portfolio.
