Free and Reduced Lunch
Guerin Catholic High School does not participate in the National School Lunch Program. However, we will honor and support those families who qualify for free and/or reduced lunches under the Federal income eligibility guidelines. (Spanish Version).
If your family would like to apply for assistance, please complete the attached 2015-2016 Application for Free and Reduced Price School Meals (Spanish Version) and submit the completed forms to the accounting office or scan and email them to email@example.com. As stated, eligibility for participation will follow the same Income Eligibility Guidelines that are used by schools that do participate in the National School Lunch Program.
If your family qualifies under the Income Eligibility Guidelines for free or reduced lunches, your student’s eligible lunch will be the Comfort Zone Meal Deal. This lunch will include the main entrée, one side dish, fruit and a milk or water. No substitutes are allowed. Other items that the student would like to purchase – in other zones or a la carte – are not eligible under the school’s free and reduced program and will be required to be paid for by the student at the time of purchase.

Our new online bookstore, MBS Direct, has many e-text and rental optionsavailable for our required texts. (See purchasing textbooks below.) There may be other e-text options than the ones listed on the Textbook list and if students can determine that the content is the same, they are welcome to use them. iPads, Kindles and other e-readers can be used in the classroom.

Speaker: Kizito Kalima – “Z”
Kizito Kalima (“Z”) is 36 years old and has lived in the United States for 19 years. He has spoken in front of the UN in New York about the Rwandan tragedy where he was hunted down but miraculously was not killed. He will share his inspirational life’s journey and a powerful message of love, forgiveness and determination intertwined with humor! His non-profit organization called Choose to Forgive helps Rwandan refugees assimilate into the US, and create an awareness about the refugee situation here in Indianapolis. He is especially trying to reach the refugee youth who, without help and directions, can easily be lured by gangs to join them down the wrong path. Z has been meeting with these youth and any refugee on a regular basis to help them learn how to become productive citizens in the community.
His website is www.choosetoforgive.org and his organization is called Peace Center for Forgiveness and Reconciliation. He is full of charisma and character and will be a great Advent message.
