All eighth grade students applying to Saint Theodore Guerin High School are required to take the High School Placement Test. This test will help us validate a student’s readiness and proper placement into classes, as well as determine who will is eligible to receive a scholarship.
Advanced registration for the High School Placement Test is required. You may register for the Fall 2015 placement test on our website. The test begins at 9 a.m. and the students should arrive at Guerin Catholic no later than 8:45 a.m.
Saturday, October 11, 2014* — 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Saturday, December 06, 2014* — 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
On the day of the test, please arrive at 8:45, bring two #2 pencils along with a snack and water. No calculators are allowed during the test.
If you need an accommodation for the day of the placement test, please submit a copy of your IEP when registering for the test.
*To qualify for the academic or presidential scholarship, the placement test must be taken by December 31, 2014.
While the students are taking the placement test, parents are welcome to stay for coffee and a light breakfast. You can meet some of the other parents and we will have administrators available to answer any questions you may have.
ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS
Two scholarships are available at Guerin Catholic. The Academic Scholarship awards $1500 a year renewable for four years with a total award of $6000. The Presidential Scholarship awards $2500 a year renewable for four years with totals $10,000
The scholarships are awarded based on the High School Placement Test Score. Those students scoring in the 98th or 99th percentile will receive a Presidential Scholarship and those students scoring from the 95th through the 97th percentile will receive the Academic Scholarship.
