High School Placement Test

Click here to register for the 2017 High School Placement Test Summer Prep Course (rising 8th grade students)

The High School Placement Test (HSPT) is offered on three Saturdays during the fall. Please note that the HSPT requirement for incoming freshman will be waived for students applying after our priority placement deadline of December 15, 2016. We will accept HSPT results from other schools who may be offering the test in the spring of 2017. Students applying or taking a test after December 15th are not eligible for our Presidential or Academic Scholarship. In the absence of HSPT results, our Guidance Counselors will review middle school transcripts to make proper placement into courses.

The HSPT is composed of subtests in areas of Verbal Skills, Quantitative Skills, Reading, Math, and Language. Guerin Catholic does administer the Religion section of the HSPT test which allots 30 minutes of testing time. The results of the Religion section are not included in the total composite percentage of the HSPT results. The Guerin Catholic Theology Dept. reviews the Religion section results to help assess curriculum development for that incoming class.
